I would like to add nice intro paragraph to my index, along with a picture. How would I go about doing this?

Hello

The easiest way would be to edit the catalog / includes / languages / english / index.php

 

edit the line

define ('TEXT_MAIN', 'Your Text here');

Avoid using apostrphies of if you do then escape it like this .... store's will become store\'s

You can also add images in here, a lot of people use HTML to do this, use an HTML editor to get it the way you want it to look; then copy and paste the code, but make sure the code goes in between ' and '

There are also add ons that might be of use here, try a search of the addons area.
