Product Info page multi pic recommendations

I am looking for some recommendations concerning a few image contributions.

I am running osC vMS2 2.2 updated

A few installed contributions in case they have an effect on my choice:

Header Tags SEO by Jack_mcs

Ultimate SEO URLs v2.2d-5 ORIGINAL updated by Jack_mcs 2 Oct 2009

I need to have more than one product image on the product info page (medium image plus thumbnails below).

It would be nice to hover over a thumbnail and have the medium pic swap.

Most important is that the pop-up image use the Lightbox effect.

I prefer to make all three image sizes myself instead of letting the add-on to it automatically.

Something not to complicated to operate in admin panel.

I found these:

Additional Images v2.2.0 by surfalot 10 Dec 2009

More Pics 2.0.7 Combined by kymation 10 May 2009 (sounds complicated)

UltraPics 2.08 with Lightbox 2.04 by -GuiGui- 22 May 2008

Any suggestions or recommendations greatly appreciated!

Before upgrading to 2.3, I remember using more pics combined with fancy pics for the pop up effect. Header Tags SEO and SEO URLs should have little to no effect on the image addon you decide to use.

Thanks Ashley !

I have been reading through the different support threads... and... well... started to get confussed and nervous.

You forgot one: Upgrade to 2.3.1. What you want is built-in.

Actually I was trying to upgrade (switch over too) 2.3.1 since I'm designing a new shop.

But while testing the vinilla install (both localhost and web) I noticed it was slowww loading and frooze my browser for awhile.

I posted a thread asking about that and found there's a lot more editing involved just to try and speed it up let alone add contributions.

I already have an updated 2.2 with a bunch of contributions and edits that I figured I could start with that.

Thanks for the suggestion though Jim. ;)

I use additionasl images. It saves your images to a file within your images folder dependant on the category and subcategory. It does this automatically. It savs so much time when altering images. It also creates three sizes of thumbnail, if you want them.

I have had no problems with this add on since it was installed.

REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

You could try to integrate the bxgallery of 2.3.1 into your existing store without doing a full upgrade.

Jims (kymation) would be better coded than the others listed.

Alternatively, I did backport the 2.3 image system to a 2.2 shop.

Was fairly simple.

You could try to do the same?

Thanks...

I never thought of intergrating the 2.3 image system to 2.2.

I'll checkout the files and see how difficult it might be.

And compare it to installing Jims MorePics.

I appreciate the feedback and suggestion.
