Quotation for foreign shipments

Hi,

 

We sell items that can vary a lot in weight and size. For domestic (Swedish) customers I want to offer a flat rate when paid on ordering (Paypal). Or the customer can ask for a quotation (for small items that fit in an envelope). Foreign customers should not be offered the flat rate but automatically be told to ask for a quotation.

 

Even if I would use two zones (or countries) I'm still not able to interrupt the order processing to allow me to give the quotation.

 

Any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance.

you can use table rate, depends on location of user and weight of the products the cost will be different.

Thanks Alex. I tested the table rate earlier but didn't get it to work as described. But I will test again to see what it is I overlooked.

How many zones do you want to split this world into for your shipping calculation.

 

If its few then I recommend take individual product shipping module and modify by adding more fields and defining cost for each zone for each product.

 

 

If this is too much of data entry then you need to sue zone based table rate.
