Admin won't allow updates to the database

I can get into Admin and the My Store section. When I select a record and edit it, there is a Cancel button, but no Update button as there should be. I know it's connected to the database because I can make changes directly in the database and the changes will show up in Admin.

After playing with it further, I've discovered that most of my images aren't showing up and that the Submit button in the item edit is one of them. The link is actually there, just the images aren't showing up.

 

Any ideas?
