Having issues with PayPal Website Payments Standard

Ok, I've searched the forums on this (and google) and cannot figure out how to fix it for the life of me! :(

The issue:

Say someone selects the PayPal Website Standard Payment option as their payment option. But when they are redirected to PayPal (to sign into their paypal account, and pay for/confirm their order), instead of completing their order they just close the window, or even click the "cancel my order" link.

That unpaid for/unconfirmed order will still show up in the Admin panel, in the Orders section, as paid for and with a "Preparing" status.

What I need help with:

How do I set it up so if they decide to cancel the order, or don't pay for/abandon the order, it will NOT show up in the Orders section of the Admin panel?

Also, I am wondering, is the PayPal Express option a better one to use than the Website Payment Standard one?

A couple notes:

This is for version RC2v2.2

I used these instructions to setup the PayPal mod.

Ok, I installed the IPN for Paypal Website Payments Standard and...it didn't fix anything. I'm still having the same problem.

However, I do have a correction to make.

Initially, I thought the unpaid order appeared in the Admin panel once people were redirected to PayPal to complete the order.

I was wrong.

The unpaid orders appear in the Admin panel once a customer reaches the checkout_confirmation.php page--which is before they hit the "continue" button to even go to PayPal at all.

I need to have this setup so orders do NOT show up in the Admin panel UNTIL they are paid for.

Help?

There are two order status that are configured thru admin.

So set first to pending and other one to processing.
