multiple currencies question

I intend to have multiple currencies on my store, my default will be dollars. I need to know if when someone changes the currency to say Euros, will the site use a correction factor/exchange rate to adjust? or is 10 dollars going to be 10 euros? if this last option is the case is there a plugin out there that will handle the calculations correctly?

The site will use the exchange rates as set in admin>> localization>> currencies.
