freelancer83 Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 I understand I can duplicate the flat rate module, but this won't account for defferent item types... Could it be done via the attributes, or can anyone suggest a module? Quote
Guest Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Neil, I don't think there is anything currently available to accomplish what you want to do. That would be a custom coding project. Chris freelancer83 1 Quote
freelancer83 Posted August 18, 2011 Author Posted August 18, 2011 Thanks for your reply Chris, I find it really hard to believe that such a basic requirement is not available for osCommerse, as an online store it can't accomodate different delivery prices for different product types to different locations. freelancer83 Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 I've managed to convince my client to re-assess the shipping procedure so now we can do it on weights. I just need to set things up and was hoping to confirm that my idea is the best way about it. All I need is to set up 2 different zones, 1st for the uk, 2nd for the rest of the world. Then just attach the weights table to these zones. Now the question is: Can I simply duplicate the zone rates module, have uk as the only zone in zone1 and add all the remaining countries into zone2? I'll also need to rename zone1 to "UK Royal mail 1st Class" and 2nd zone rate as "International Delivery" Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys! Quote
Guest Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 Neil, You could duplicate the table rate files or you could use MultiGeoZone Multi Table Shipping Chris freelancer83 1 Quote
freelancer83 Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Thanks again Chris. I'm setting up the uk table rate but I'm having a problem. I've added weights to the products, lets say they're all 100. I've set up the table rate shipping module like this: the shipping table is - 100:2,200:3,300:4,400:5,500:6,600:7,700:8,800:9,900:10,1000:11,1100:12,1200:13,1300:14,1400:15,1500:16,1600:17,1700:18,1800:19,1900:20,2000:21,2100:22,2200:23,2300:24,2400:25,2500:26,2600:27,2700:28,2800:29,2900:30,3000:31 which should mean orders that weigh 100 (1 product) should cost £2. however when I try to order that single product weighing 100 the shopping cart tells me that the charge is £34. I have a dulplicate zone shipping module with the same table, its tells me that Shipping to GB : 1550 lb(s) £34.00 I'm a little confused...... CHRIS!!!!!! - lol Quote
freelancer83 Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 ah, changed tare weight to 0. Things looking better Quote
freelancer83 Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 still seems to be £1 more than it should be tho....... ie 1 item at 100 should cost £2 (100:2,200:3 etc) how ever it seems to charge the next step up, so 1 item of 100 is currently charged £3 - arghh! Quote
freelancer83 Posted August 30, 2011 Author Posted August 30, 2011 Problem solved, products classed as larger packages which was adding 10% to the weights, causing 100 weight product to 110 and thus causing the weight into the next section. Problem Solved. Massive thanks to Chris Quote
