Problems setting up account as user

When setting up a new user account it keeps forwarding back to registration saying "please fill in state"

 

The state has been selected but doesn't take that input.

 

This oscommerce is on my daughters website and I need to get this fixed fast.

I think I found the problem but don't know how to fix.

 

I entered my state "Texas" and it won't accept it but it accepted another state.

 

I tried editing my account once logged on and it still doesn't like the Texas choice.
