Upgrading? Lamenes question.

Going to 2.31, is this as simple as copying the new files over the previous and over writing or is this more complex? When I read the documentation it appears to be show all the changes but no the instructions on how to actually perform the upgrade.

 

I aware you that I am very new to this.

2.3.1 has a template system in place so its not just a copy paste.
