peterpachner
Hello For oscommerce 2.3.1 I installed the full German language pack 2.2. The result is mixed. I copied the files on the server, set German as default. Here is a screenshot. http://www.phpages.org/temp/oscde.jpg Some fields (buttons) like the basket work. Others, like new products, are scrambled. Can anyone suggest what I did wrong? I am not an up to date developer (at all). Last site I did was in html with css (2 years ago). Before I study php in depth I would like to lean on others. Is there someone who knows where to find open source templates for 2.3.1 to play around with? multimixer
It looks like the package you got is missing some language defines, or it is not one for version 2.3.1 The best free template to learn on is the default osCommerce template that you got Quote My community profile | Template system for osCommerce - New: Responsive | Feedback channel
♥toyicebear
This is how you should proceed. Start with a brand new 2.31 1. Make a copy of english.php and rename it german.php 2. Make a copy of the language folder /english/ rename it /german/ 3. Add a German flag icon to /german/images/ 4. Translate all the language defines from english to german Quote Basics for osC 2.2 Design - Basics for Design V2.3+ - Seo & Sef Url's - Meta Tags for Your osC Shop - Steps to prevent Fraud... - MS3 and Team News... - SEO, Meta Tags, SEF Urls and osCommerce - Commercial Support Inquiries - OSC 2.3+ How To To see what more i can do for you check out my profile [click here]
peterpachner
Thanks to both answers 1 I agree that the supplied standard look is a good start 2 I agree that the 'do it yourself approach' is a good way to learn and make sure that it works. Every good product is cumbersome to do, that's life. Thanks again, at least it does not look like I am totally out of touch.
