Cannot open/edit php files in Define Languages

Guest

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am hoping someone can help here.

I set up some custom information pages such as ABOUT US and simply update via the Define Languages option in Admin.

However, since applying SSL, I cannot open nor edit any of the php files - even the one that were there previously (eg. shipping.php).

I have set the permissions to 755 throughout the /includes/languages/english/modules/boxes diretory - any ideas why this is happening?

TIA, any help appreciated

Regards

Anyone?

When I click on any of the files, it just refreshes the page. I cannot open any of the Define_Languages files from admin :(

TIA

Stephen,

All files should be downloaded via FTP and then edited and uploaded back to the server. You should not be trying to edit any files with define languages.

As Dunweb said there is a security risk in editing files through admin.

better and secured option is to download file using FTP and edit.

If you then to want to use Admin you need to contact hosting company.Probably HTTP does not have permission and FTP does have.

So it also depends who is the owner of that file.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.

So how can a client/customer ever edit these files individually?

What should you do if you have an info page that requires regular user update?

TIA

In that case you need to add info manager contrib and modify those information pages to get data from data base.
