Products not showing in categories

Hello all!

 

I have added a couple of products to my store, but they don't show up in categories. One of them is under best selling so I can view the item, but I can't browse categories, as there are no products. But next to the category it shows (2) but nothing in it when I click on it.

 

Also not sure if it is relevant, but when I do a search, it never comes up with anything.

 

Using PHP version 5.2.*

MySQL ver. 5.0.81-community

 

All other things seem to be fine, like zones, customer registration, logins and all, but can't browse categories.

 

Please help :) I am new to this so not sure what else would you need for info.
