Hercules
Hi, I just have a quick question... I sell gift certs in my shop and I don't want them to be used online... I want only to mail them out, as paper cards. However, the way I'm doing this now, I have added a product to a category called "Gift Certificates". There are different denominations of products.. $50, $100, 200, etc... However, I'd rather have a single product labled as "Gift Certicate", and the user can fill in the amount they'd like to make it out for. However I don't know how to do this. I'm using the MS1 release, just so ya know... please give me a hand ! :) THanks!
Guest
To do this follow these instructions... Create a product for your gift certificate with a base price.. i.e. $5.00 Then go to Product Attributes and create a new Attribute for "Amount". Then assign new selections to it for the amounts you want... (i.e. 10, 15, 20, 25). Finally assign these to your base product with the appropriate price modifiers. I have done this for Gift Certificates in values from $5.00 to $100.00 in increments of $5.00 and it works well.
