odd problem with double appearing products

Hello all of you.

we are adding new products, till so far nothing strange.

When we open the product page the "old" appear in a proper way. Nicely in afphabetical order.

the new products appear in on the first page too in a proper way. Now we klick to the next page as there are more than 40 products listed there.

Now the strange thing appear that the new products appear twice in the list.

and some others just disapear. When I reload the page, the alphabetical orders is out the products that we "lost" came back. but other ones disapears again.

I thought about a SQL problem but cheked it and I cant find the problem.

Anybody a sugestion?

Thanks a lot.

Have you looked at the data in the tables using phpmyadmin to see if the same product exists more than once?

Cheers

Hy G.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I did. First thing I did check, before asking stupid questions, allways learned RTFM before calling.

The thing is, if I use the alphabethical order it appears when I reload the page it is out of "line" and the problem is gone.

Maybe there is more than one description per product for the language being displayed.

Shouldn't be if the keys on the table are correct but if you have a templated store, you never know.

Best way is to echo the sql to the screen and try it yourself.

There are a couple of add-on that allow you to display the sql to the screen.

if ($column_list[$i] == 'PRODUCT_LIST_NAME') {

$HTTP_GET_VARS['sort'] = $i+1 . 'a';

$listing_sql .= " order by pd.products_name";

break;

Problem solved.....

$HTTP_GET_VARS['sort'] = $i+1 . 'a';

Change from 3 to 1.

The listing was mixing up several parameters.

G thanks for your help.

reg,

Frank
