I have now realised that Fasthosts do not allow there customers to use their SMTP server which means that order confirmations etc are not being received by the customer. Other than changing ISP (as i've paid for the year!!!) does anyone know of a solution? Please be gentle on me as i'm new to the world of hosting etc! Second, I think you have 2 choices here: 1) Get a new host. 2) Get a new host. 3) Send all emails out by hand from another account. 4) Get a new host. Ok, I did day 2 choices, I lied. Not allowing sendmail isn't going to work with a busy shop. If you can't automate you email, It just leaves more work for you.
