Products show up on categories list

I have several categories created, as I have different brands of products. When I put a new product under one of the categories, it shows up on the categories list page.

 

So it looks like this:

 

homepage > categories > brands/products (it shows the brands of products like it should, but also shows the products I list under the brands)

 

I want it to look like this:

 

homepage > categories > brand > product

 

Why is this happening?
