RackShack SLL Cert - OT: Requires no challenge password???

I just requested a CSR from my hosting company as step 1 in getting an SSL cert from Rackshack.

 

The admin sent one containing a challenge password. However, RackShack's instructions say not to use a challenge password. I asked the hosting company to re-generate the CSR without a password and they informed me that their Cpanel won't generate a CSR this way.

 

I emailed RackShack to confirm that the CSR can not contain a challenge password and they verified that was correct.

 

The hosting company reminded me that RackShack resells for GeoTrust. At Geotrust, there is no stipulation regarding the use of a challenge password and the hosting company says all of its clients use Geotrust.

 

I guess what I am asking is if anyone has completed the SSL process with RackShack and used a challenege password?

 

I dont understand how Geotrust and Rackshack could differ if they are selling the same item.
