adding on and mix matching products

Hi members,

 

I was wondering if there is contribution out there that can do the following

 

say example I have fruit box valued at $30.00 and you get the following in the box

 

5 x apples

7 x pears

1 x pineapple

2 x bananas

 

but say the customer hates bananas and want to change it for example apples now apples are cheaper than bananas is there a contribution out there that will calculate the difference on mix and matching to still come up to a $30.00 value box

 

another example customer may want to have

 

2 x apples

10 x pears

1 x pineapple

2 x bananas

 

apples are worth $0.60

pears are worth $0.80

bananas are worth $2.50

pineapple worth $4.00

 

but at the end of the day the value has to add upto $30.00 maximum.

unless your customers would be happy to pay $30 for, say, $25, $28, $29.5 worth of goods, as you wont let them to get $30.01 worth of goods by paying you $30. you cant cut a bit off a banana to make it $30 exact.

Ari,

 

There is no current contribution to suit your needs. You could hire someone to create it for you, but even then the logic would have to be altered to make it function properly.

I did something similar to what you want here

 

The difference being that thread was about the total quantity of products ordered in specefic categories, not total price of products ordered in the category.

 

If you made a category called "Fruit Basket" and added the fruit allowable to be ordered to that category, then recoded what I wrote to work based on total price not total quantity it would work.

 

You'd also need to allow for multiple "baskets" to be ordered (i.e. if they wanted two baskets the total price couldn't be over $60 instead of $30).

 

This is about as close to what you want to achieve that I can remember seeing.

On a more somber note, in the last post in that thread I warned about vulnerabilities in his version (v2.2 RC2a).

 

I just checked again and he's done nothing about it and it appears to me there are hack files present now.

I have done few mods add few thing tp prevent this and deleted things need to add 2 more anti hack measure which will hopefully make it a little harder to hack.

I have actually enrolled in php and my sql course which will hopefully bring me upto speed.

It's really not a "contribution" you'll find at the link I posted just code changes.

 

And yes I specifically mentioned the hack part for your benefit.

 

I merely wanted to reiterate the fact (since you've mentioned having the same version) that with that version you need to take a few extra precautions after a stock install to secure the shop. If you don't it's not a question of "if" you will get hacked just a question of "when" and "how bad".
