@spike
Everything was well last night (around 3am) and today when I open the site, the infoboxes have disappeared. I am using 2.3.1 and it was a fresh install. I have also installed Themeroller along with the themes. Like I said, everything was working perfect yesterday, but I must have deleted something in the wee hours of the night, not realizing it. The funny thing is, I have restored the backup files and even went as far as replacing my backups with the original osc 2.3.1 files and still the infoboxes don't appear. Can anyone hep me out with this? Also, the boxes are enabled under the Modules in the admin panel, so that is not a fix for me. You can view the site @ www.marlieandmereborndolls.com/content/. Also I noticed in the admin panel that I am getting an error when I click Modules - Boxes - Install Module - Then the Edit Button under any modules. The image attached is that error. Can someone please help me out with this??? I can not find the error anywhere and like I said I replaced every file that I had edited with the original osc file and I still can't get the boxes to show up. THANK YOU! KDM
I don't know if your problem is the same as mine. Shortly after I installed 2.3.1 and while testing all boxes disappeared and I found by looking in configuration file that the configuration_value fields was empty for my various boxes. I still don't know why it happened but as soon as I ran my configuration file backup my boxes were back. Try this in phpmyadmin run this query: SELECT * FROM `configuration` WHERE `configuration_key` like '%boxes%' This will show you all your boxes setting and you can check the configuration_value in each. If you are missing "MODULE_BOXES_INFORMATION_STATUS" and the other two records for your Information Boxes, then just copy those records that are missing from your backup and run them in phpmyadmin. If you don't have a backup then do the same with the original Oscommerce sql file in your install folder of the zip file from Oscommerce. @spike
Thanks for the advice, but unfortunately mine are currently filled so that is not the problem. However, after messing around with the admin modules section, I noticed that all the box modules are not showing up anymore and when I remove the modules and reinstall them, that's when I get the error. ALSO, for some reason I can only add one box. It's either the Categories box, Information box, or any of the others, just not all of them. Any idea what would be causing this issue? @spike
I never figured out the problem, but after restoring my database to yesterday's backup, all is well again. I will have to make a couple adjustments that didn't get backed up, but it is better than starting from scratch. Thanks for your help anyways. KDM
Have you made any changes to modules.php in the admin folder. You have two "each" statements. It's reading your configuration file. This is where the problem is. Try this. If there are no changes in modules.php, then just clear your configuration file with: truncate table "configuration" Then run your configuration file from either your backup or oscommerce.sql file from the original install. Hopefully this will work. REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR DATABASE BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES
@spike
I didn't make any (noticeable) changes to the modules.php file, but in case I did, replaced this file while the stock osc (backup) file and it didn't seem to help. So are you saying that the file was reading the configuration file twice? I think I did tweak the configuration file to remove a couple features but I didn't notice anything screwed up after the fact. Unfortunately I can't view the old source and see exactly what you are talking about since everything was restored to working order.
KDM
Like you without seeing all factors it is hard to say. I just know that modules.php reads the configuration file for modules so if there is something wrong that is a good place to start.
