Trishac
After checkout can oscommerce redirect the customer to a html page to download files? I mean can I add my own html links for the customer to download after checkout? If this possible with oscommerce? I'd really like to create my own html downloadable links for customers to get access to after a successful purchase? Can oscommerce do this? Please help. Guest
osCommerce supports downloadable products (you checkout and get an email with a link and/or login to your account and have a link) but as far as a page that is displayed, you would need to customize that. ♥14steve14
There are loads of posts here about getting downloads to work properly. Firstly you should install the 'super download shop' add on. This will automate the process, rather than the manual way that comes as standard with oscommerce. Upload all your downloadable files into the download folder, and be sure that the file type is saved in the name ie download.zip. To make things easier for you there is a contribution called 'download file helper' which makes adding product attributs so much easier, and is simple to install even on the newest version. Each downloadable item needs to have a product attribute added to it to let oscommerce know that it is a download file. Once that is done, someone purchasing a download will get a download link available to use once they have returned to your checkout_sucess.php page once payment has been made. That makes it sound so simple. The only problem i have is that if the download is a free item something needs to be done with the shipping page of checkout to miss this out. I can get it not to show the payment page, but not the shipping. I will figure it out. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

I used "FreeProductCheckout_1.1" which worked for skipping the shipping page, but still don't get download links.
