Drop Down Item Select Help!

Hi I am looking to create a drop down menu that selects manufacture, model etc from a drop down menu, an example can be found here of what i'm trying to achieve.

I've also found a way of achieveing this through javascript

But this will be lengthy entering each model, printer etc I was wondering if an exsisting add-on was avalible to which requests data from the database?
