♥toyicebear
oscommerce 2.2 does not have a template system. So adding a template to it is not "easy" unless you have an unmodified shop. ♥toyicebear
Which version of OSC has the ability to change templates???Is it easy to upgrade???? Non of the stable version has templates built in, 2.31 is closest in that it uses the jquery ui which lets you add themes. My 2.2 has ONLY Hide Prices installed. You would probably be better of buying a brand new template and just adding in the :Hide Prices" add-on to the new shop. If you have a choice then go for a brand new install of 2.31 and add-in a 2.31 template on-top of that..then after that is done you can then add in any extra add-ons you want. Looks like a very good idea. I think I'll do this. My next question is HOW DO I TRANSFER THE DATA BASE. WILL IT BE AS SIMPLE AS database restore to the new 2.31???? ♥toyicebear
you will need to check the differences between the 2.31 db and you old shops data for the db tables containing data you want to import over...then you will have to modify the "old" data so it can be imported into the "new" db. Maybe this is a dumb question, I have never seen the SQL DB, Where can i find it??? How do I open it to compare.
