thumb
I just finished moving OSC from another host and now I get this error when trying to go to the website: FATAL ERROR: register_globals is disabled in php.ini, please enable it! The old site has been running for years with no problems so it must be something different on the new host. I checked all of the php.ini files and they all have Register_Global set to On. For some reason I remember having to change the .htaccess when I moved the site before about 4 years ago. I know it's better to have the Global turned off but where would you do that at? Anyway, any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, I am running and older version 2.2 I believe but will be updating it when I get a chance to convert the old database over. Guest
Tim, Older versions of osCommerce did require Register Globals ON. Most shared hosting providers now will NOT allow them to be ON. If your hosting provider has that restriction in place and you are using an older version of osCommerce, then you will have to update to a newer version. thumb
I don't know what happened but after emailing the host about the problem all of a sudden everything works. Now I can work on upgrading and integrating the old database into it. Thanks
