Image upload problem. . How do I upload images from a remote server. (Willing to pay money)

Hi all,

I am trying to upload product images to my site from a remote server.

I am using the aspona addon to bulk upload my products in CSV format. An example of the image link in my CSV file is: http://www.kondoraccessories.co.uk/image_store/product_images_200/ha-f140-vn-e.png

How can I do this? Is there anyone on here willing to sort this out for me and I am happy to provide some sort of money incentive through paypal. I understand some coding/scripting may be required.

I have over 2500 products so there is no way I could download each image manually from my suppliers site. There must be a quicker option. .

Help is appreciated. Kind Regards

I'm not sure what the issue is here.. Do you know the names of all the images you need?

If so, can't you just use a image downloader macro? http://download.cnet.com/Bulk-Image-Downloader/3000-2071_4-10637557.html

Then just use FTP to upload the images to your images directory and put the name of the Image in your CSV file.

I don't have the images stored on my computer.

My supplier has sent me a CSV list with over 2000 products and under the category "Image" it just contains a URL for the destination of the image for each product.

I need to find a way to make it possible to use product images for my site from my suppliers hosting site. (remote server)

There must be a way of doing this instead of me having to download all the images individually and then upload them. . .

You need the pictures on your server, or atleast that should be your goal. Oscommerce is setup to handle local images, I'm not sure how to get around that.

That said, downloading 2000 images and re-uploading them to your server isn't at all that difficult with the right program. Since you have a CSV file with the location of each image the macro program can grab them all for you. Then you can re-upload them to your images folder, again that shouldn't take too long.

The last thing you need to do is trim the URL, an excel macro could do that so all you're left with is the image's name, which you'd then reference in your CSV file as the products_image.
