xaze
The store that I am creating will have approximately 9,000 products and will probably have 100 categories. I automatically added 9,000 products and dispersed them across 100 categories and it took forever to load the main admin page. So, I looked into tep_products_in_category_count and it took that function 39 seconds to execute (on my 933 mhz 512 mb desktop.) The category structur was as follows: Main 1 ----~50 sub categories (with a few sub-sub categories) Main 2 ----~50 sub categories (with a few sub-sub categories) Does this mean that oscommerce is meant for smaller sites or am I missing something here? Will functions that require this much time to execute be made faster in the future (perhaps by storing category counts in a seperate table)? Tell me if you have also experienced problems with oscommerce being terribly slow.
