osCommerce

The e-commerce.

install 2.3.1 into existing website

Recommended Posts

Hi,Guyyzz.

I used Web Easy to setup websites for me.

It is a program that supplies templates, and then i can choose a template for my shop, and edit it by adding comments and images/ photo's.

Through Avanquest i can then upload this template to my site.

Although it has nice images and pages, its not as easy or nice as oscommerse when it comes to the catalog and admin.

Question is: Can i upload oscommerse into an existing site? something like www.ford.com.

The structure of oscommerse is great, and it solved so many of my problems, so if possible, i would like to upload it to a site where i have pages with images and comments, while having oscommerse shop structure, as the existing shop will not have products listed.

Advice will be appreciated.

Wishing you all Happiness and good health

Hannelie :blush:

Hannelie,

You COULD just use osCommerce as your complete website. Adding information pages is easy.

However if you want to use your existing site and link to osCommerce you can easily do that by installing osCommerce into a sub-directory.

Hi, Chris.

Thanxx for the info.

If i could know how to at least have a back ground image in my webpage, i'd be happy.

To add a background image to your store: In file stylesheet.css find where it says

body{

...

...

}

and add following to it

body{

...

...

background-image: url(images/my_image.jpg);

}

You need of course to upload the image to your server.

Depending on the image, there are various settings to do, read here about
