Hello all,

 

I'm working on new site (offline), using version 2.3.1.

 

I've previously worked on another 2.3.1. site and have a reasonable, beginners grasp, of how to secure a site, etc, etc, but know very little about making dramatic changes to "look and feel" of the website.

 

So I need to :-

 

1. Add a sitewide backgound image, which needs to be the full width/height of the browsers visible page and repeats on pages which require use of the page down key or down sliders.

 

2. The left/right columns will also need repositioning so that they are not indented.

 

3. I'd also like the various box backgrounds to be transparent

 

Can anyone give me any clues.

Hello everyone,

 

I think I've managed most of the above.

 

 

Now I'd like to

 

1. Prevent the "Top>>Catalog" navigation bar from displaying

 

2. Make the Info, category and shopping cart boxes, display only their headings until either moused over or clicked, so they are effectively the top level of a menu tree.

 

3. Replace the Os-commerce footer banner, with my own or add my own above it and float both further down the page.

 

I'm fairly sure that I can do 1 above but am unsure how this will affect the other pages, can anyone advise ?

 

Any help re 2 would be gratefully received.

 

I know I can do 3, but some posts on the forum say never remove the Os-commerce banner others say it can be removed if significant alterations have taken place, again can anyone advise the most appropriate action to take ?
