Freight - allowing order to progress - but with a Freight Amount to be confirmed later

Hi there,

 

I would like the visitor to be able to complete an order, but for certain products a freight price will have to be added later - due to the uncertainty of costs.

 

Is there a way of doing this ?

 

i.e. shopper selects to buy product , when it gets to the freight the price will show TBC (to be confirmed). Order will then flow through as normal. Shop owner will then find out a price and tell the customer. It would be good if shop owner could go in and amend the order with the correct freight $$$.

 

Is this easily done ?

 

I believe we are running v2.x of oscommerce.
