Product Info Thumbnails - Centre

Hi,

 

I've seen a number of pages detailing how to change the product info layout, I've done this successfully, with the product image on the right and the description on the left, however, rather than having the thumbnails aligned to the left of the main image, I'd like them to align centrally to the main image.

 

For example, on my sample Galaxy Tab page I've got three thumbnails aligning left, however I'd like them to align centrally. I'm sure this is a simple change, but it looks to be script which changes these elements and I don't know where to begin with changing it.

I'm also trying to add a space between the top of the thumbnails and the bottom of the main image, rather than have them touching one and other as they do at the moment. Not quite sure how the process works as I can see that they're list items, but I've tried adding padding to the ul and li but it applies it to the main image along with the thumbnails, as though they are the same items.
