Action Recorder

Hello,

 

Can someone please explain what the " action recorder " is ?

 

I signed on to my account and noticed that there was a name that was not mine on 2 different dates. It looks like this;

 

Contact Us Persons Name [0] 05/20/2011 03:19:46

 

I looked back on my pages and found that there was another person as well done last month.

 

Are they sending me emails and this keeps records of it ? If so, I have not received any questions so how do I check to make sure everything is set up right.

 

Your explanation would be greatly appreciated.

The action recorder keeps track of your contact_us.php form. So if a customer called John Smith contacts you it will be recorded in the action recorder table in the database. Administrator logins are also kept track of.

Apart from the admin login my action recorder records nothing - I do get contact us emails though - just ain't recorded...

My store is currently running Phoenix 1.0.3.0

I'm currently working on 1.0.7.2 and hope to get it live before 1.0.8.0 arrives (maybe 🙄 )

I used to have a list of add-ons here but I've found that with the ones that supporters of Phoenix get any other add-ons are not really neccessary

Mine records both log ins and contacts sent from the shop, but you cannot click any of them unless they are on page 1. Clicking any item on page 2 takes you back to page 1 and removes identifier info in the right corner.

You do have it turned on in Admin under modules? Tell a friend is also monitored.

Actions Recorders as standard are;

 

admin login

tell friend use

contact us use

 

Tell friend should only ever show real names - as the tell friend functionality is only ever available for logged in customers of your shop.

 

Admin Login should only ever show you! If it shows anyone else, then it's a sign of problems!

 

Contact Us can show customers names (if logged in) or guest use.

 

You need to make sure that they are turned on, in your admin area.

 

They are very simple to code up if you wanted to protect other things - I coded one to protect my Links Manager (ability for visitors to add links) from over-use.
