I'm using IXWebhosting, for all of my domains. And the "easyApps" collection includes OsCommerce, and it installs by itself ETC. The real question is how do i log into the control panel, if all IxWebhosting tells me is www.mydomain.com/oscommerce2.

HELP!

If I suggest you edit any file(s) make a backup first - I'm not perfect and neither are you.

Thanks! But now i'm still lost. I have not set up an ADMIN/PASSWORD for my account, and IXWebhosting has not set one up for me. Because like i said, all of what they gave me is the link to the catalog. So, i've searched every where for a default password of something, but i've found nothing.

Bryan,

There is NO default username and password. That is part of the problem with some of the 'One Click' installations, they fail to ask you for the required information to properly set up osCommerce. I suggest you download v2.3.1 from THIS website and upload it to your server via FTP, then run the installation.

Ok, So i know how to find all the folders and such. But once i download the update, where do i upload the file to.. and which files. Unfortunatley, i'm very novice when it comes to Web hosting, and such. And should i use OSCommerce, 2.3 or 3.0?

Since v3.0 is NOT functional at this time, the only choice is v2.3.1.

When you download .zip and decompress it, you will see the folders. Upload the files and folders to your hosting account ensuring you maintain the directory structure. Once done, run the installation.

You will also be asked to create a database for the new installation, do that before running the installation.
