mumbles Posted May 18, 2011 Share Posted May 18, 2011 This is a rather long tale I will try to keep it short.My web site has been Hijacked. Some years ago I asked a friend to help me set up a web site for my son's and my home hobby business . He bought a website from Godaddy and Hosting from The Kerb . Unfortunately he used his name and credit card. I have since had the Domain name transferred to myself but the hosting company has refused to answer any contact by phone or email or by raising a work ticket in general they are total ratbags. I have just got off the phone to Godaddy who have asked if I backed up the data and I did but it was lost when I got the virus that enabled the Hijackers to Hijack my site and who have control of the web site now. Can some one help me please I am not positive I can still get into the OSCommerce side of the website but If I can I may be able to get a copy of the data and save all the work I put in to building the site.I will need help , how to do this as I am a Luddite. OR should I just build a new site? and point it at Godaddy's hosting and let the other site die Many thanks all also be gentle with me I am a little fragile about this whole saga that has been going on now for over a year. satish Posted May 18, 2011 Share Posted May 18, 2011 If you can use the same domain name( As search engines had spidered and its pages have lots of seo value). I also recommend create a new site. If possible upload data from previous backup and proceed. Else if you have previous complete code(might be infected) then higher an expert who will clean your files and harden security so you can use the same set of code(recommended only if you had made lots of code modification and your budgets didnt allowed creating those again).
