Guest Posted May 16, 2011 Share Posted May 16, 2011 Tara, Transferring to another host is quite simple. Download all files and a copy of the database from the existing server to your local machine. Create a new database on the new hosting account (write down the database information) Upload the files from your local machine to your new hosting account maintaining the directory structure. Change the TWO configure.php files to reflect the new hosting path and database information your wrote down earlier. Import your old database into the new hosting account. Your site is now transferred onto the new server. As far as updating goes, download version 2.3.1 from here and follow the update instructions included. Note: Any contributions installed on your site will also have to be updated to be compatible with the new version. There are NO instructions on how to do this so you will have to edit each error received to make them compatible. Chris Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
