Bobby__Boucher
Hi, I am not sure what version of oscommerce my client has. I need to update it to the latest version. It looks really old. How do I tell what version it is?
♥toyicebear
in this file includes/application_top.php as for upgrade, you will first need to check which version and then download all the versions which is newer and do the upgrade docs in them one by one starting with the oldest. You will probably find out that its easier to start with a new shop andd in wanted design and mods to it and then just import the customers, orders and products over from the old to the new shop. Bobby__Boucher
It says v1.2, 2003 I'm guessing that's pretty old huh?
NodsDorf
Yes that is very old. Seven years ago I started with version 2.x. We're up to 2.3.1 now. However, if you're just going to make a new shop, IMO it would be best to go to 2.2 RC2a. While 2.3.1 has some nice features, many contributions are not updated to support it yet. This may cause problems when upgrading a client or customers website. Especially if they have specific add-ons they use regularly. Download Link for you. The most notable issue with 2.2rc2a is the security that needs to be addressed immediately. After that has been taken care of, you should find the version very reliable, flexible and functional.
