stuartrichardson
Hi, Sorry, total greenhorn here: My v2 site was hacked several months ago, and I'm just now trying to fix it by installing v3 - my hope is that I can use the same database file from my v2 site, along with the old image folder, and hopefully I'll only need to re-work the graphics on the footer/header. Is this possible, or will I need to completely rebuild the whole site along with creating a new catalog? And if it does require a total rebuild, can I alternatively upgrade using the latest v2 build without having to rebuild graphics, etc. - and would this give me a reasonably secure site again? Thanks so much for any help!
Taipo
I would have thought version 3.x was not a stable release yet? I think 2.3.1 is the stable version. 2.2.1 is the out of date easily hackable version. - Stop Oscommerce hacks dead in their tracks with osC_Sec (see discussion here)- Another discussion about infected files ::here::- A discussion on file permissions ::here::- Site hacked? Guest
Stuart, As Te suggested, v3.x is not production ready and was only released to help further development. Us 2.3.1 if you want a production ready store. Chris
