VioletCrownSoap
I do not use any of the gateways and do not at this point care to switch. I accept paypal but don't really like it. I want to be able to have the customer key in their credit card information for me to retrieve and then key in myself. I understand this is more vulnerable BUT I delete the credit card information from the database after I've processed it. Is there an add-on out there for this? Or do I have to switch my processor? (I have a Quickbooks Merchant Account - I saw a big thread on QBMA but it just confused me. Any help is appreciated.)
Guest
Lea, In most areas of North America it is now illegal to accept credit card information electronically without PCI DSS compliance. The use of services like authorize.net, PayPal and Sagepay are becoming more of a necessity than a choice. Even with those services, it is safest to also have an SSL on the site to prevent 'sniffers' from grabbing information as it is entered. ♥toyicebear
If you really want to process your credit cards manually, then you can use a service like www.e-path.com.au provides.
