Guest
I am told having and using file manager in cPanel is bad for security. So I would like to remove it. Unfortunately since my FTP access (Filezilla 3.4.0) to my 2.3 store stopped working, file manager is the only way I can access the store. It seems filezilla logs in, but then times out before it can show me any of the folders and files in public_html folder. Any ideas anyone?
Xpajun
The file_manager (actually file_manager.php) that is referred to is the one that came with osCommerce 2.2 - this has already been removed from osC 2.3. The File Manager in your host's cPanel is a totally different animal and you will need this to change the permissions of your configure.php files at least, so using it for altering files will not be a problem. Regarding using filezilla - if you are having problems with time out speak to your host about it and see what they advise My store is currently running Phoenix 1.0.3.0 I'm currently working on 1.0.7.2 and hope to get it live before 1.0.8.0 arrives (maybe 🙄 ) I used to have a list of add-ons here but I've found that with the ones that supporters of Phoenix get any other add-ons are not really neccessary
