How do I remove images from the product listing display?

Hi All,

 

First off, let me say that I did a search for this and couldn't find anything similar. I thought I had recently seen a thread regarding all of the configuration tips and it was basically full of screen shots with everything annotated regarding where you would go to edit that particular item. For the life of me I can't find that thread now.....

 

Anyway, the question I'm asking now is regarding the display of all of the items in a category (OSC 2.3.1). Right now when you select a category in the left menu, the display has the image, the Product name, the price and the buy now button. I'd like to remove the image from this display since we're selling mp3 downloads and this isn't necessary. I'm not sure where to go to change that. If possible I'd like to add another column there (possibly file size). I'm assuming I'd have to add another field to the dbase as well.

Ok, I was overthinking this in a big way. I didn't even think to look at the built-in configuration tools; Configuration->Product Listing. Doh! I was thinking I was going to need to edit one of the php files. So there's that answer.

 

However, if someone can point to that very detailed configuration 'tutorial' that had all of the screenshots I would appreciate it. I could have sworn it was a pinned topic.

Believe what you're looking for will be located in /includes/modules/product_listing.php. Around lines 66 and 133. I would suggest making a backup of the file first and just comment out the two sections, in case you will need them for future use.
