inferno272
I've been using this version, happily, for several years now. however a contribution i want to use, ultimate seo urls, says it needs the latest version of oscommerce...which i don't have. how difficult is it to upgrade? is there an upgrade pack that takes me directly from 2.2rc1 to whatever the latest stable version? also, i am by no means a programmer/coder but i did install this myself. however i did hire ppl to change the look of my site, and to add a few features i needed specific to my site will upgrading to the latest version screw up these changes? sorry for the noob questions, but im a little worried about this. Guest
Prashant, You would have to update from RC1 to RC2a and then to v2.3.1. You would also need to change the coding for the contributions you installed to ensure they are compatible with structure changes in 2.3.1. Having said that, if you hired someone to create the site and don't know much about the code, you may have to hire someone again to complete the updates. To be honest, I find is simpler to create a NEW website than to update one. Less time consuming and less fiddling with bugs in the code. inferno272
so it may just be simpler to hire someone to do the install of the SEOURL addon and make it compatible with my version?
rKcomplex
Really dead post so sorry for the revive, but I just installed this contrib on v2.2 RC1 without any modifications other then what I needed to install the contrib. IF anyone else ever comes across this question, it still works even though v2.2 RC1 isn't listed as supported.
