STS and osCommerce Version 3

Does anyone know how to install STS on osCommerce 3.0.1? Do i have to downgrade to v.2.2 in order to have STS?

I like the way STS handles the theme - placing(inserting) store element on any part of an existing html site.

Can anyone help me out?

1. V3.0.1 is not complete its just a core development version..so its not suitable to use for a live shop

2. The V3 have its own template system built in.

So if you wish to use STS then you are going to have to stick with V2

Thx for replying!

I have considered v2.3 and v2.2, but the lack of functionality for v2 is brutal. No purchase without account, no coupon code, no blah blah. I know that those functions can be obtained through plugins or addons, but those features are already built into many other shopping cart systems out there; Prestashop and Magento are two great examples for that.

I have tried virtually all free shopping carts out there, Magento being the greatest in functionality, but not so good in theming and performance on low budget shared hosting plans(which I actually solved with TMDhosting); Prestashop is great, too, but still, the theming process pissed me off; Tomatocart is awesome with its gorgeous backend (a virtual OS), but I couldn't figure out how the theming process should be done - and there's not much written in there docs. One thing these shopping carts are in common is that they all have newsletter, coupon, purchase without account built right into the systems, which eliminates all those dirty and annoying tweaking in the source code.

I do like osCommerce, too, for its STS. I like how I can plug things into my own design without breaking everything up, which sort of works the same way Wordpress does (but using WP for ecommerce is almost a disaster, for all the hard work you have to put into programming the site and installing all the 3rd party plugins.)

SO

If anyone has come across a way to compromise the STS and one of those shopping carts I listed above (Magento, Prestashop, Tomatocart), PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

Thank you very much!
