Integration with current site

Hi everyone,

I have a site and it's now getting to a point where the shopping cart stuff is necessary.

I've looked at the onlnie demo's and it all seems fine functionally.

However, everything i've seen so far has used a template/layout.

I'd like to keep the look of my site as it is, with maybe a cart 'panel' on the right and an 'add to cart' button at the bottom.

Is this actually possible with oscommerce? how much flexibility do you get?

Cheers

Lewis

Lewis,

You can create a template or theme that is very close to your current site layout, but the structure of the cart pretty much stays the same. An exact match, not likely......a close fit, yes definitely.

Hi, thanks for replying.

Another question...

Is it possible to have our existing order form take you off to the shopping cart?

i.e. change nothing until the client actually places the order.

I'm not bothered in the slightest what the shopping cart looks like as long as it doesn't affect the current design.

If it goes off to a separate page then that'd be great.

However, assuming the above can be done, is it possible to have the shopping cart system work without entering your products into it?

On my order form, clients can customise their orders, so entering them manually wouldn't be an option for me.

Thanks

Lewis

Lewis,

Yes and No, you can custom code the cart to make if function the way you want, but it is custom coding.
