greree
Download the entire program again, and unzip only the file you need.
chfields
Mine is a CVS download from 2/19/03. There won't be any problems with compatability?
greree
It shouldn't be a problem. Look at the date at the top of your general.php. It'll probably say 2003/02/07. It should be an exact match.
Tarnadair
Get the version you need from CVS. http://cvs.tep.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/vie...ons/general.php
chfields
Thanks! I downloaded the milestone. I also went to the link and copied the general.php file form there. Is there a difference between the catalog and admin general.phph file?
Tarnadair
I also went to the link and copied the general.php file form there. Is there a difference between the catalog and admin general.phph file? Ack! Absolutely (almost certainly!) My fault! Here's the url for the one in admin. http://cvs.tep.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/vie...ons/general.php
chfields
Whew!! Glad I didn't upload it yet!!
Tarnadair
Scratch that business from that url. You can just browse the cvs to get the files you need. I actually do this fairly regulararly to update contributions, etc. (and cause I occassionally blow up a php file.)
chfields
I normally have a copy of the entire store so when I corrupt a file(which I seem to do alot I usually have a backup) Now that I have the milestone, I think I'm going to make a couple copies and try playing with it. How hard is it to move one database to another?? Isn't that basically all you need to do to change from CVS to MS?? Of course move the files you have changed as well.... Tarnadair
I usually just backup the entire database using phpMyAdmin then import it into the other one. I had to add (and remove) a few tables and insert a few rows into the database to bring mine current with MS1. I just compared (using araxis merge) my version of catalog/install/oscommerce.sql manually with the MS1 version and made the necessary changes. Not too bad at all. chfields
I just built a new database and recreated my store again and it wasn't bad this time. Much easier than the first time!!!
