longhorn1999
Hi, I'd posted this problem in the forum for LiveZilla but was told that my problem is not with that installation. http://www.livezilla.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4744 Basically when I try to backup my database now, I get the following error: 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'exit from visitor_chats' at line 1 select visitor_id,browser_id,visit_id,chat_id,fullname,email,company,status,typing,waiting,area_code,first_active,last_active,qpenalty,request_operator,request_group,question,customs,allocated,internal_active,internal_closed,internal_declined,external_active,external_close,exit from visitor_chats I believe that these database tables are inserted by LiveZilla. The last good backup I had was in early February and the entire compressed file was around 250k, and my database shouldn't have grown that much since then. What happens is that I get the error, and then when I click on the back button, an uncompressed file of around 2.1 MB is saved. So somehow my database is greatly expanded though the only relevant code changes I've made as far as I can tell are just LiveZilla updates. Someone else had a similar problem (http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/topic/327651-database-backup-manager-error/) and Jan suggested that the new database backup tool be used to deal with the extra large file, though I haven't tried that just yet. Looking at phpMyAdmin, it looks like the largest tables are products_description, sessions, headertags_cache, configuration, and whos_online, though I'm not sure what the distinction between between size and overhead is here. Could there be some bug somewhere that's caused my database to grow so quickly, or am I unfairly blaming LiveZilla and I just need to manually clean the database? Could I have a security breach and something has been injected into my database? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks, Nick
wijnendael
Can you tell me if you solved the problem as i have also just recently installed Livezilla and now have the same problem. When i am in admin/tools and backup i cannot now make a backup without a error. The error given on the screen is 1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'option' at line 1 show fields from option [TEP STOP] I have tried lots of different changes that have been found on the web and in the forum but the error is still there. I am using osc 2.3.1 so i think the database manager mentioned above will not work in it. Can someone please help me with a solution to the problem so i can again make my regular backups. Guest
Nick, If livezilla is saving chat sessions and records to the database, your database could grow substantially. I suggest creating a NEW database for Livezilla so it does not interferer with osCommerce. Chris

web-project
I have Livezilla installed on the same database as an osCommerce store and have no problem with backups. I'm using the new backup tool that Jan suggested. Regards Jim I don't recommend to install the Livezilla to the same database, as f some one hack your Livezilla application they will have access to the same database as oscommerce - security issue! Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here! 8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself. Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues. Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.
longhorn1999
All good points here. I ended up using the backup tool Jan recommended as well, since my database was growing bigger regardless of LiveZilla. One a database gets to 2 megabytes or so, the built-in backup tool stops working. I'll look now at putting LiveZilla in a different database for security reasons.
