disciple1
You need to find the image (in one of the image directories) and change it in a program like photoshop. All that is not eternal is eternally useless.

ozstar
You have to find the corner.gif files, open them in a graphics prog like Photoshop, PhotoImpact etc., change the colour or create a duplicate. Save them as the original file name and upload to your server where they came from. This is manual task - sorry no admin stuff here! Good Luck ! jwsfun
 First of all, it's very frustrating, especially when you're new to the 'php' and 'css' world, to dig through these forums and NOT find a straightforward and clearly explained answer to a question when you're in need of help. Maybe it's because of the language barriers that seem to exist here, but even some speaking (writing) English can't seem to do that very same thing well enough to not sound like they're reading/writing on a fifth-grade level. I have one simple question that I'd like a direct answer to: I've edited my .css file to change the heading and infobox colors, but naturally those ugly gray boxes are still there. I've seen at least five different suggestions on getting rid of them, and the one that I've gotten so frustrated trying is actually changing the colors of the .gifs themselves. Here's the catch: I have both Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and Paint Shop Pro 8.0 and have edited and colored many, many photos and projects with both of these programs: So why is it when I attempt to change the color of these .gifs, all I can do is work WITH the color but not CHANGE it? I have NEVER seen this before...Is this an osCommerce 2.2ms2 'quirk'? Why can't the colors be changed? Has anyone else used either of these two programs to change the colors of these files? I'm sure someone has...So, please, if you KNOW HOW, you CAN and you HAVE USED either Adobe or Photoshop to change these .gifs, PLEASE let me know how to do it...This is so bizarre that NEITHER program will let me make a color change on these files...It smacks of something eBay would do (no offense  ). If you're going to post and tell me to edit my .css, please don't bother: I want to be able to change the colors and I've found it's aggravating and even laughable at how many people have posted ambiguous, partial and misinformed solutions to editing .css files. I don't mean to sound rude (too late, I know  ) but I just want to know HOW to change the colors of these files using Adobe or Photoshop. Thank you. :)

Guest
find the images in (gosh, of all places) images/infobox they are arrow_right.gif arrow_left.gif corner_right_left.gif You can do what ever you want with them in the editor of your choice. If you want eliminate them completly you can comment then out of the code, but I usually just make them transparent. It is not a language barrier that is much of a problem, but usually a communication problem. A question is asked in the wrong manner or using wrong terminology often with incorrect or obscure details. And in many cases, as in this one, it is an answer that has been covered many times in forums in all sorts of fashion. But it is also covered extensivly in the wikki documents. If you want handholding or step by step instructions this really isn't the place to look for it.
jwsfun
find the images in (gosh, of all places) If you want handholding or step by step instructions this really isn't the place to look for it. I had a feeling someone would reply in this fashion...The above quoted responses only prove my point about the ambiguity of responses to questions in these forums. Unbelievable...Maybe the person responding needs to READ what I said in my last post: I've BEEN working with the files, so what made you think I don't know WHERE they are? In addition, I've read through the "wiki" site many times (and it's been useful) AND I'm well aware of how much this issue has been addressed in the forums. And yet, you provide an answer given to a question that wasn't even asked! If you read my post and didn't see the question I was asking, then maybe you'd better read it again (i.e., the last sentence I wrote in my first post on this topic). It's got "clarity" written all over it. Okay, please, ANYONE ELSE who has used ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 7.0 or PAINT SHOP PRO 8.0 (and NOT older versions of the two) to fix these corners, I'd sincerely appreciate some input. This appears to be a glitch in the programs and not with osCommerce (re:see above, "Nevermind...I found the problem."). And please, "Willk"...Keep your insults and attitude to yourself: It's not what I came here for and it certainly doesn't answer any questions. What's wrong with a nice friendly "hello" or "I think I can help"? I'd appreciate it if you kept your other comments to yourself. Thank you. jpf
I use Corel Photo Paint.... (but just about the same in any higher end "paint" program.) The default GIF files as is has a LIMITED color pallet. When you edit it these files - it loads (custom pallet of colors) only the colors that this GIF is currently using (maybe 12 or 16 colors - mostly white and grey - not 256+) - change the color pallet - you change the color (may be ugly if you do this) if you change the color via a "pallet editor tool" and manual change the color attrib for each color - you will change the display color. The OTHER option is to create a whole new file with the same PIXEL size and with the color pallet you want - draw your own (how hard it is to draw a 1/4 circle?) - make all white backgound as transparent or as your background color. Save file as the same file name. If your more inclinded - make it more fancy! Good luck
jwsfun
The default GIF files as is has a LIMITED color pallet...Good luck Jason, Thanks for the info...I'd forgotten that I was working with limited colors in these files. I think I've already decided to take your advice and make my own [new] corners, simply because I seem to be having some kind of glitch when trying to simply replace the gray with what I want to use. I've never used Corel, so I can't comment on it's usefullness, but I trust you use it well in the osCommerce template (maybe I'll check it out). Thanks again for your input: I appreciate it immensely.:) Jeff
