Lobster101
Hi everybody I recently developed a new store on a separate domain with a fresh database. I would now like to move this website from this domain onto my main domain (where the current osc store is based), so basically - I would like to replace my old store with a newly developed one. I tried to upload the new site to overwrite the old one but the formatting doesn't look right, it shows TEP Errors, and also doesnt allow me to access my admin area for the website! Before uploading, I removed the domain name from the files that were showing it - to reflect the main domain. I left the database the same. It doesn't seemed to have worked. What's the official/better way to transfer a store to another domain so that it functions properly? Thank you in advance for your help

Guest
Janet, When moving a store: 1) download all files onto your local machine maintaining the directory structure. 2) export a copy of the database using phpmyadmin 3) create a new database on the new server. 4) Import the old database into the newly created database 5) upload the files from your local machine to the new server maintaining the directory structure. 6) Edit the two configure.php files to reflect the new domain name and server path. Add the new database information using the database credentials you were given when you set it up Chris
