Recommended Payments Method

Hi,

I've set my store up and used the PayPal Website Payments Standard payment module. However I received a dummy order, ie my admin showed an order but no actual order was placed. When I first saw this had happened I was concerned my site had been compromised but I was reassured it hadn't been by the community on here. However the point was made that dummy sales can appear when using PayPal Website Payments Standard. What I'm not sure about is what I should use to avoid this. I don't want to sign up for Payments Pro as this has a monthly fee which is something I can't justify as I'm yet to make any sales on my site. The fact that Payments Standard was free was the main reason I chose it.

Any advice on what route I should take would be really appreciated as I am reluctant to stick with PayPal Website Payments Standard if I'm going to be seeing dummy orders. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you are using the PayPal, I recommend to use the PayPal IPN or PayPal Express checkout module.

Please read this line: Do you want to find all the answers to your questions? click here. As for contribution database it's located here!

8 people out of 10 don't bother to read installation manuals. I can recommend: if you can't read the installation manual, don't bother to install any contribution yourself.

Before installing contribution or editing/updating/deleting any files, do the full backup, it will save to you & everyone here on the forum time to fix your issues.

Any issues with oscommerce, I am here to help you.

Thanks I've set up PayPal Express Checkout and it works much better, totally removes this issue.
