Credit card Payment module

Hi!

I am setting up a website for a friend of mine with OS Commerce. As payment options we have set up Paypal and the Credit card module. Reading other postings I realize that the credit card module might be a bad idea. The site is secure (https) with SSL... but I would not like us to be liable for any credit card frauds so will aim to use only Paypal for now.

But as I did install this for a short time I just need to double check one thing. When you set this up the module does not actually ask you for any credit card details. So where do you add the bank account details on where the money should go at a payment?

Also, what module would you use for receiving credit card payments, if you want a second option appart frompaypal?

Thank you before hand!

kind regards

Paula

In order to accept CC payments, you need a merchant account. Google it.

Check the add on area for payment modules that are already created. There are many depending upon your geographical location. If you take the CC number on your site then pass it to your gateway, you need to follow much stricter guidelines to be PCI compliant. Google that too.

Cheapest and most secure route is to pass your customer off to the merchant account website for them to take the CC details.
