I need help with installing contributions

Sorry if this question seems really dumb, but I'm very new to FTP and not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'm trying to install a module that allows me to add quantities to attributes.

Here's what I've tried:

Download the files

Moved the files to a folder in my documents section

Opened filezilla

Logged in to my site's host

Located the files I downloaded

Moved the files to the public_html remote site

What am I doing wrong/not doing?

Please help :)

Mike,

Did you move the files from your local machine to the proper directories on the server ?

Did you then do any manual edits per the installation instructions ?

Did you run any SQL statements per the installation instructions ?

I think I moved the files from my computer to the directories but not sure if I did it right...

I did not make any edits to the files.

I didn't see any SQL statements in the installation instructions...

I made a new FTP account on my cPanel, linked the account to filezilla, and connected to the account. Then I uploaded the files needed.

It still isn't showing up on my oscommerce admin section.

If you could, could you please give me step by step instructions in laymen terms of what I need to do?

Thanks a lot for the help.

Mike,

The best advice I can give you is:

MAKE A BACK UP BEFORE DOING ANY FILE EDITS

READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY

In order for it to appear in admin, you need to do one of two things.....either run an SQL statement and/or make code edits.

So, read the instructions that came with that contribution and you will find your error.

Chris
