christophe/1
Hi I had a programmer set up my site some years ago, he disapeared after payment, I am a complete unknowledgable on the subject so have enormous problems.I have checked the system currently used, it is PhP 5.2.10 if that is any help !! I have a particular problem that is centered around no orders ever being communicated back to me,people e mail me some time after purchase chasing orders that I am unaware of, currently I have tried to find out why and have only come up with a message as follows; (Warning, no file uploaded), however on the site there is all my uploads displayed, email address posted, all appears correct, to me!! Can anyone help, direct me, to solve the problem please, I would be most grateful for any advise.
♥14steve14
Are you saying that the customer orders table is empty, or that you are not receiving the extra order emails. REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

Guest
Chris, I am going to assume you are using PayPal Standard as your payment module. PayPal Standard is well known for 'dropped orders' where payment is received but the store owner does not receive a copy of the order. I suggest upgrading to PayPal IPN or even PayPal Express. christophe/1
Hi Steve, Many thanks for the response, Yes I am saying that I never receive an order via the site, I only become aware of the placement once paypal contact me to alert me to incomming funds or the client sends an e mail, to my [email protected] address some days later, to enquire after the order. There is no mention of an ordrer placement in the orders recieved table. This is my principle `bette noir` at the moment. Of course I cannot verify exactly how clients are using the site which must be a grey area, but am assured that they use the shopping cart and checkout as shown on the site. Is there a better way of instructing the clients to purchase on the site I wonder?..

christophe/1
Hi Chris, Many thanks for your reply, I would assume that I am using paypal standard, however surely if a client purchases from the site there should be a record of the client, the purchase and an alert to me via the site, it should not be up to paypal to let me know of the transaction!!... So I an guessing that my site should be programmed to alert me to the visit and whatever purchases have been made, with name address and paymant details recorded. Guest
Chris, Actually, it is the PayPal Standard payment module that prevents the order from appearing in Admin under the right circumstances. However, customer SHOULD be recorded when they create an account. Without actually seeing your website, the cause can not be determined. ♥14steve14
If you are using paypal standard, and you are not receiving any order info try logging into your paypal account, go to your profile, and somewhere there you have the ability to add a return url. This sends your customers back to your site once they have paid. I have mine set up to return the customer to the checkout_sucess.php page. Once they return to your site all the order details are collected by oscommerce. There is a contribution somewhere that will allow your store to collect the order info before sending the customer to the paypal site. You also need to set up your store to send extra order emails. This is done in your admin under configuation - my store. Hope this helps REMEMBER BACKUP, BACKUP AND BACKUP

christophe/1
Hi Steve, Many thanks for the info, I have confirmed the auto return option in the paypal account and inserted my url, please excuse my ignorance but I assumed that the url is my philatelic-stamps.com website ??whatever thats done, also I am able to confirm that in my store under Configuration the option to, send extra order emails, is activated, to my address at yahoo002. I hope, and will wait and see, that this will resolve the problem, however, how long I will have to wait is indeterminate. Again very many thanks to you.
