Has anyone else had this problem?

How do we fix it?

If there's not a fix available right now, can we load the module from the previous version and make it work?

Unless someone is logged on they will show as a Guest.

To be sure that this is the problem, log yourself into your store, look at Who's Online and see if your IP lists you as Guest or by your name as it should.

Hi,

I thought that to until I watched a person shop. I thought they were just playing with the cart. After the order came thru and it was a regular customer I signed on and it wouldn't show me as being on. It showed me as a guest as well. When I searched the board I found one other person with the same problem but I haven't found any suggestions on how to fix it.

Thanks

Dee

Hmm.. Got me.

You are doing a refresh of the page "Who's Online" page right? Otherwise it will still show as guest.

Good luck.

Hi,

Yes I am refreshing the page.

I have another site using 2.2 and it works fine there.

I bet more people have this problem and just haven't noticed it.

I didn't for a while.

Change line 16 of /includes/functions/whois_online.php

    if (tep_session_is_registered('customer_id')) {

The $ on there and missing quotes appear to be the problem.

We all need to learn it once, how hard it may seem when you look at it, also you will master it someday ;)

  • 2 months later...

I'm using a snapshot version and the date in my whois_online.php file is November 22, 2002. I'm still getting the guest instead of user and there is also an ID column which is all showing as 0

I tried what was suggested above but that line is not in this file.

Any ideas much appreciated..

Thanks
